Fiorano's advanced SOA and Middleware technology now available on GSA Schedule to State
Fiorano accepts Cooperative purchasing in addition to GSA Recovery Purchasing under GSA Schedule 70, Information Technology
Fiorano Software Inc., (www.fiorano.com) a leading provider of SOA platform and enterprise middleware solutions, today announced its acceptance of the modification to its GSA Schedule to accept orders under Cooperative purchasing as well as under Section 833 (Recovery Purchasing), placed by state and local government buyers.
Fiorano, an established GSA contractor under GSA Schedule 70, supplies leading edge middleware technology and products to US Department of Defense and other federal agencies and has won orders from prestigious agencies like NASA and Mitre Corporation.
Reflecting its standing commitment to supply of leading edge technology to the US Federal Government, Fiorano was one of the first vendors to accept the modifications to its contracts giving access to advantageous pricing and terms of the GSA schedule to all US State and local government entities. Fiorano supplies to the US Government through its GSA Contract No. GS35F0390L.
The increasing need for federal, state and local agencies to demonstrate business value with substantial return on investment, improve delivery of services to citizens, tighten information flow for security and intelligence is driving federal enterprise architects and capital business planners to seek proven technologies in the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) arena. Service-oriented architecture promises a world of flexible and interoperable software components that will increase efficiencies, lower operational costs and improve effectiveness across the enterprise.
Cooperative Purchasing authorizes state and local government entities to purchase information technology products and services from the GSA's Schedule 70 and the Corporate Schedule contracts containing information technology Special Item Numbers (SINs).
GSA amended its regulations, under authorization from Recovery Purchasing, (Section 833) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2007, to allow state and local governments to use GSA schedules to facilitate recovery from a major disaster, terrorism or nuclear, biological, chemical, or radiological attack.
